TPO: the FIFA announces entry into force of the ban of this practice on 01/05/2015

"The ban will come into force on 01/05/2015; existing agreements shall continue to be in place until their contractual expiry. New agreements made between 01/01/2015 and 30/05/2015 will be subject to a time limit (one year maximum)," announced the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) Executive Committee, concerning the ownership of players by third parties, on 19/12/2014.

The Executive Committee had decided to ban the practice, after a transition period, at its meeting on 25 and 26/09/2014 in Zurich (SUI). The FIFA TPO (third party ownership of players) working group was to study the implementation of the ban schedule, had met in Zurich (SUI) 30/10/2014.

Philippe Piat (FIFPro) announced the end of TPO in 2015 to News Tank on 09/12/2014
