Spain: €7 million in unpaid wages (4.5 times more than in 2013) by 13 clubs in Liga BBVA and Adelante

60 claims totaling €7,003,019.44 in unpaid wages were recorded in December 2014 against 13 clubs in Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante (the Spanish first and second divisions), indicated the AFE, the Association of Spanish footballers, on 16/12/2014. This amount is 4.5 times higher than that recorded in December 2013 (€1,533,319.39), and the number of claims has increased 76.5% over the period (34 claims against 13 clubs one year earlier).

28 claims, for a total amount of €234,212.80 in unpaid wages, were recorded in December 2014 against 11 clubs in the Segunda División B (Spanish third division). "The (overall) number of claims is experiencing a significant decline for the fourth consecutive year," said the SFA on 16/12/2014. 89 claims against 20 third division clubs had been identified in December 2013 for a total amount of €503,365.89. The number of claims decreased by 68.5% between December 2013 and December 2014, while the cumulative amount of unpaid wages decreased by 53.5% over the same period.
