Manchester United FC: a record turnover of £648m (+11%) and net loss of £28.7m in 2022-23

Manchester United FC (Premier League) has posted a record turnover of £648.4m (€751.6m as of 30/06/2023) for the financial year 2023 (from 01/07/2022 to 30/06/2023), up 11.2% compared to 2022 (£583.2m/€675.9m on 30/06/2022), announced the club, which presented its annual accounts (unaudited) on 26/10/2023.

Matchday revenues reached a record £136.4m (€156.4m, +23.4%, compared with £110.5m / €128.5m in 2021-22) thanks to "record ticket sales and attendance" while commercial revenues also increased to an all-time high of £302.9m (€347.4m, +17.5%, vs. £257.8m/€298.8m in 2021-22). TV rights revenues, on the other hand, declined by a slight 2.7% to £209.1m (€239.8m).

The Mancunian club's operating result improved (-£11.2m / -€12.8m versus -£87.4m / -€101.3m in 2021-22). The club also posted a net loss of -£28.7m (-€22m), a significant decrease on the -£115.5m (-€133.8m) deficit at the end of the 2021-22 financial year.

The projected turnover for the 2023-24 season is between £650m and £680m (€645.5m to €780m), and the projected EBITDA between £140m and £165m (€160m to €189m).
