LALIGA: partnership with LUFPRO to develop professional football in Uruguay

LALIGA has signed a strategic agreement with the Uruguayan Professional Football League (LUFPRO) to provide "technical and institutional support to help grow and strengthen the local professional football league," announced the body on 25/10/2023.

"Through this agreement, both institutions will share information on issues related to the professionalisation of football, such as the commercialisation of broadcast rights, financial fair play, technology and innovation, security and integrity, as well as other topics. Additionally, a specialised legal advisory service will be provided to LUFPRO for the professionalisation of the structure and processes related to the competition. It will also assist in the implementation of measures related to the monitoring and regulation of ticketing, violence and racism in football, media rights (TV, Internet, mobile devices, etc.), match-fixing, and other issues," explained the Spanish League, which wants to draw inspiration from its "successful model of the last 10 years."
