FIFA: former RFEF president Luis Rubiales "banned from all football-related activities for 3 years"

"The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has banned Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF), from all football-related activities at national and international levels for three years, having found that he acted in breach of article 13 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code," announced the International Federation on 10/30/2023.

Disciplinary proceedings were initiated by FIFA on 24/08/2023 against the former RFEF president, who kissed Spain striker Jennifer Hermoso against her will during the presentation of the Women's World Cup 2023 trophy to La Roja on 20/08/2023. The proceedings initially resulted in Luis Rubiales being provisionally suspended "from all football-related activities at national and international level" for 90 days from 26/08/2023, before resigning from his position within the Spanish Football Federation on 10/09/2023.
