Financial Fair Play: Blackburn, Leeds and Nottingham Forest (Championship) prohibited from transfers

Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest (Championship, English second division) have been banned from making player transfers from 01/01/2015 until the end of the 2014-15 season, announced the Football League (organiser of the English second, third, and fourth divisions) on 15/12/2014. The three clubs have not respected the rules of financial fair play in the Football League for the 2013-14 season.

Blackburn, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest have exceeded the authorized limit of £8m (€10.2m) in annual losses, namely exceeding a maximum of £3m (€3.8m) of operating losses and up £5m (€6.4m) of equity contributions from shareholders. The transfer ban measure will be lifted at the end of the 2014-15 season if the three clubs in the Football League show that they meet the Financial Fair Play criteria for the current season, namely a maximum loss of no more than £6m (€7.6m), with a maximum of £3m (€3.8m) of operating losses and up to £3m (€3.8m) of equity contributions from the club's shareholders.
