France: TF1 posts the 6 best audiences of 2023 during the Rugby World Cup

"The 2023 Rugby World Cup enabled TF1 to record the six highest audience ratings of 2023," announced the French private free-TV group on 29/10/2023. "In total, more than 51 million French people will have followed the record-breaking competition on TF1."

An average of 7.46 million viewers watched the 20 matches broadcast by TF1, according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie. The average audience share posted by the channel was 35.5%. The four matches involving the French national team broadcast by TF1 drew "an average of 14.3 million viewers" (audience share: 58.9%).

28 matches (out of 48) of the Rugby World Cup 2023 were broadcast by the groups M6 and France Télévisions under a sublicensing agreement with TF1.
