esports: LALIGA's official competition becomes "LALIGA FC Pro" for its 7th season in 2023-24

LALIGA's official esports competition will be known as "LALIGA FC Pro" for the 2023-24 season, announced the Spanish professional league, on 03/11/2023. This includes "a new format and the largest total prize pool in its history at more than €350,00" in 2023-24.

This rebranding is part of the existing sponsorship agreement between LALIGA and American video games publisher EA Sports, which produces the "EA Sports FC" (formerly FIFA) video game on which the Spanish League's official competition has been played since its launch in 2018. EA Sports acquired the naming rights for "all Spanish leagues" (including eLiga) from the Spanish professional league from the 2023-24 season on 02/08/2022.

The first title of the 2023-24 season will be contested on 11/11/2023 with the launch of the "LALIGA Pro SuperCup", an offline competition (LAN) between four clubs (Real Betis Balompié and RC Celta, respectively champions and runners-up of the 2022 regular season, as well as Real Valladolid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid, winners of the 2022 SuperCup and Cup).
