UEFA/Financial Fair Play: confirmation of the €500,000 fine imposed on FC Barcelona upon appeal

• Rejection of the appeal lodged by FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports).
• The First Chamber of UEFA's Club Financial Control Body has upheld its decision, imposing a fine of €500,000 on the club.

This was the verdict of the CFCB (or Club Financial Control Body) Appeal Chamber announced on Friday 03/11/2023. Accused of "wrongly reporting, in the financial year 2022, profits on disposal of intangible assets (other than player transfers) which are not a relevant income under the regulations", Barça had been sentenced at first instance on 13/07/2023.

"During the 2022-23 season the CFCB First Chamber, chaired by Sunil Gulati, concluded the assessment of the break-even requirement covering the financial years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
