LFP: discussions with Apple for domestic media rights to Ligue 1 for the 2024-2029 cycle (press)

The Ligue de Football Professionnel has reportedly entered into discussions with Apple, a US electronics and technology company, regarding the domestic media rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the 2024-2029 cycle, according to RMC Sport on 07/11/2023.

The call for tenders for the domestic audiovisual rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the 2024-2029 cycle, launched on 12/09/2023, was declared unsuccessful by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on Tuesday 17/10/2023. As a result, on 18/10/2023, the LFP began direct negotiations with broadcasters, whether or not they had submitted a qualitative bid. The OTT sports platform DAZN and the American e-commerce group Amazon have also held discussions with the LFP, according to RMC Sport.

However, according to RMC Sport, Apple did not take part in the call for tenders for the international media rights to the French championship over the same period, although the deadline for submitting bids was 02/11/2023.
