Michel Platini only candidate for UEFA president at the 39^th Ordinary Congress on 24/03/2015

Michel Platini, the current president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), will be the only candidate for the post at the XXXIX Ordinary UEFA Congress in Vienna (AUT) on 24/03/2015, announced the European body on 26/12/2014.

Section 4.1 of the UEFA Statutes stipulates that candidates for president of UEFA must notify in writing with the UEFA administration at least three months before the start of the conference. That deadline of 24/12/2014 has passed and only Michel Platini has submitted written notification. The current president of UEFA is seeking a third consecutive term of four years, from 2015 to 2019.
