CAS dismisses the appeal of FC Barcelona, upholds 1 year transfer ban for the club

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (SUI) has dismissed the appeal filed by FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) against FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the legal body announced on 30/12/2014.

This court action follows the decision issued by the FIFA Appeals Committee on 19 August 2014 to ban the Catalan club from conducting transfers for one year (or two transfer periods). This transfer ban is expected to be in effect for the January 2015 transfer window and the 2015 summer transfer window.
