CAF: New World TV broadcaster of 13 competitions in sub-Saharan Africa (2023-2025)

New World TV, a Togolese free and pay-TV group, acquired the free-to-air and pay-TV broadcasting rights for 46 sub-Saharan African countries to competitions organised by the Confédération Africaine de Football over the 2023-2025 cycle, on 10/11/2023. The free and pay-TV group Canal+ holds the French-language pay-TV broadcasting rights for CAF competitions in these same territories as part of a "long-term" partnership.

The agreement includes the broadcast of 13 competitions, including the 2023 and 2025 editions of the TotalEnergies AFCON, the men's and women's editions of the CAF Champions League, as well as the TotalEnergies U17 and U20 AFCON in 2025. New World TV will offer coverage "in French, English and Portuguese, as well as in African languages such as Lingala, Wolof, Bambara, Souahili and Ewe," explained the group.

CAF launched a call for tenders for the media rights, in sub-Saharan Africa and certain international territories, to its "major competitions" over the 2023-2025 cycle on 15/05/2023. The deadline for submitting bids was Tuesday 13/06/2023.
