LALIGA: Oscar Mayo Pardo to step down as CEO "in January 2024" to become COO at Atlético de Madrid

Oscar Mayo Pardo (34) is to step down as chief executive officer of LALIGA "in January 2024," announced the Spanish governing body on 15/11/2023. Mayo is to become the chief operating officer (COO) of Club Atlético de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports), according to Spanish newspaper Expansión the same day.

Oscar Mayo Pardo, who has been at LALIGA since 2017, "has been responsible for multiple successes at LALIGA such as the exponential growth of commercial revenues and the signing of key partnerships" including one with US investment fund CVC Capital Partners, according to the Spanish body. He has also contributed to the creation of joint ventures in China (with Mediapro and Super Sports Media), in the MENA region (with GXR) and in the United States (with Relevent).

"With the departure of Mayo, LALIGA, which has spent weeks preparing for this transition, will reorganise its management structure and appoint Jorge de la Vega, who was previously the deputy CEO, as chief executive officer, while retaining his current responsibilities.
