"In Germany, because of the 2006 World Cup, there was a huge step made in terms of improvement of the stadium infrastructure. Before most of our stadiums were stadiums with a running track built for athletics and football was one of the events that happened there, but because of the 2006 World Cup most stadiums, almost all except for Berlin's, were converted into proper football stadiums, with spectators close to the pitch and so on. That was a very big factor for increasing and improving the fan experience," said Patrick Meyer, managing director Deutsche Bank Park/Eintracht Frankfurt Stadion GmbH at the sixth edition of the Social Football Summit at the Olympic Stadium in Rome (Italy) on Tuesday 21/11/2023.
