CIES: Athletic Club Bilbao, European Top 5 where club-trained players play the most in 2023-24

As was the case in 2022-23, Athletic Club Bilbao (LALIGA EA Sports) is the club with the highest percentage of minutes played by players trained there since the start of the 2023-24 season in the European Top 5 leagues (Germany, England, Spain, France and Italy), according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post" published on 22/11/2023.

With 68.9% of minutes played by players trained at the club (total accumulated by 14 players), the Basque club, also top in 2021-22, is ahead of Olympique Lyonnais (45.6%, 9 players, Ligue 1 Uber Eats) and Real Sociedad (45.4%, 12 players).

Among the Top 20 are ten LALIGA EA Sports clubs, four Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs, three Premier League clubs, two Bundesliga clubs and one Serie A TIM club. At the bottom of the table, a total of 21 clubs gave less than 1% of the available playing time to club-trained players, 11 of them not a single minute.
