SFS23: "UEFA didn't look at the Super League proposal, they decided to go to war" (B. Reichart, A22)

"The original Super League project was a proposal designed to be presented to the world of football but also to UEFA for it to consider integrating it in into the current system. But instead of that UEFA didn't even look at the proposal, they decided to, as they put it, 'go to war', so that in a way triggered the court case," said Bernd Reichart, CEO of A22 Sports, in Rome (ITA) on 22/11/2023.

The German spoke during a talk entitled "Super League: what's next?" moderated by Kike Levy, head of NJF Sports & Media, as part of the 6^th edition of the Social Football Summit (SFS), the leading international event for the football industry, held at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22/11/2023.

"On the other hand, this initiative was always going to be evolved, to be adapted, to be consensus driven, to try to include all the opinions and contributions from football stakeholders and players, politicians, club executives, whomever is contributing to a new design of the world of football," explained Reichart.
