Formula 1: 1.13 million viewers for the afternoon GPs in 2023 on Canal+ (- 6.6%)

Canal+ posted an average audience of 1.13 million viewers for the Formula 1 Grands Prix broadcast in the afternoons on its channels during the 2023 season, down 6.6% on the 2022 season (1.21 million viewers on average), according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie released by the pay and free-TV group on 27/11/2023.

"The audience for Formula 1 has doubled in eight years on Canal+," said the group. However, the average audience for the Formula 1 Grands Prix broadcast in the afternoon by Canal+ is down for the first time since 2019 (see below).

The Mexican Grand Prix, the 19^th event of the 2023 season (following the cancellation of the Chinese and Emilia Romagna Grands Prix), was the best-attended race of the season on the group's channels. The race, won by Dutchman Max Verstappen (Oracle Red Bull Racing), drew an average of 1.86 million viewers, with a peak of 2.71 million on free DTT channel C8 and pay-TV channel Canal+ Sport 360 (917,000 and 943,000 viewers respectively) on Sunday 29/10/2023 (race start at 21:00 CET), according to Médiamétrie.
