Football Australia: €68.8m in turnover for the Federation in 2023 including €12.2m from sponsorship

Football Australia posted a turnover of AU$113.26m (€68.8m) for the 2023 financial year (01/07/2022 to 30/06/2023), up 48% on 2022 (AU$76.4m/€50.1m), announced the Australian body following the publication of its annual financial report on 22/11/2023.

In 2023, the country hosted 35 of the 64 matches at the 2023 Women's World Cup (co-hosted with New Zealand), which drew more than 1.269 million spectators (36,272 per game). The matches of the Australian team (which reached the semi-finals) were watched by 3.44 million viewers on the channels of the Seven (free-TV) and Optus (pay-TV) groups.

"Today, the CommBank Matildas are the most valuable sporting team in the country," said Football Australia. The Australian banking group Commonwealth Bank holds the naming rights to the women's team for the 2021-2024 cycle, while their male counterparts also have a title sponsor: the American fast-food group Subway (2022-2025; AU$4m/€2.42m per year).
