England: NewCo, an organisation created to manage professional women's football in place of The FA

The 12 Barclays Women's Super League clubs and the 12 Barclays Women's Championship (second division) clubs have unanimously approved the creation of a new organisation, known as NewCo, to manage professional women's football in England, announced The Football Association on 28/11/2023.

The clubs in England's top two women's divisions will be shareholders in this new body, which will be operational from the 2024-25 season and will take over from The FA, the current organiser of professional women's football.

Nikki Doucet has been elected CEO of NewCo following a selection process. "With over 20 years' experience in the sport and financial sectors, she has extensive knowledge across business management, commercial, marketing and product management, and has a proven track record of strategically leading and developing teams at the highest level, including as general manager of Nike Women UK & Ireland and with Citigroup Global Markets," explained The FA.
