Villarreal CF: opening of the Ontario Academy in Brampton, the club's fifth in Canada

Villarreal CF (LALIGA EA Sports) have opened an academy in Brampton, a Canadian city in the province of Ontario, announced the club on 04/12/2023.

The academy, opened in partnership with the Elite Soccer Academy, is the Spanish club's fifth in Canada, following those in Montreal (Quebec), Edmonton (Alberta), Vancouver (British Columbia) and Brandon (Manitoba).

As part of the agreement, Villarreal Ontario "will provide professional support to the coaches and players of this football school" and "offer young talent from Brampton and the surrounding area the opportunity and pathway to develop their talent and potential under the club's successful methodology. It will also provide them with the opportunity to visit Spain and train at Villarreal CF's sports facilities or take part in friendly matches with the various Yellow academies in other corners of the globe," explained the club.

Villarreal CF is continuing its development in Canada ahead of the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted with the United States and Mexico, at BMO Field in Toronto and BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
