DFL: a partnership with AMANDLA (NGO) to organise youth tournaments in South Africa in 2024

The Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) has entered into a partnership with the NGO AMANDLA (GER-RSA) for the creation of youth tournaments in South Africa in 2024, announced the German professional league on 08/12/2023.

The mini-tournaments will be held during the second half of the 2023-24 season. Called the "Bundesliga x Safe-Hub Series" after the NGO's Safe-Hub program, these tournaments will aim at "creating a safe space for children and young adults to play football and engage with educational and sporting programmes from local partners. The aim is to realise a vision for an equal world by improving access to support and opportunity in under-resourced neighbourhoods," added the DFL.

Once the mini-tournaments are completed, the "Bundesliga x Safe-Hub Series Finals" will take place in May 2024. The various stages of the initiative will be promoted by the Chinese broadcaster StarTimes and the South African group SABC, which hold the broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga in South Africa.
