Women's football/Barclays WSL: a record attendance of 59,042 spectators during Arsenal - Chelsea

59,042 spectators were present to watch Arsenal FC - Chelsea FC (4-1) at the Emirates Stadium (London, ENG), on Matchday 9 of the 2023-24 Barclays Women's Super League season, on Sunday 10/12/2023.

This is the second time that the attendance record for the English women's championship has been broken during the 2023-24 season, as the previous one was set during the game between Arsenal and Liverpool FC (0-1) on Sunday 01/10/2023, with 54,115 spectators already at the Emirates Stadium.

The highest attendance for a national women's club competition in England, however, was 77,390 spectators recorded at Wembley Stadium (90,000 capacity, London) during the 2023 Vitality Women's FA Cup final which saw Chelsea FC win 1-0 versus Manchester United FC, on Sunday 14/05/2023.

In terms of international competitions, the Women's Euro 2022 final (England 2-1 victory over Germany) drew 87,192 spectators, again at Wembley Stadium, on 31/07/2022.
