Euro 2024: UEFA's "ESG strategy" presented at COP 28 in Dubai (UAE)

UEFA has presented its "ESG strategy", which outlines how it aims to make Euro 2024 in Germany an environmental, social and governance (ESG) benchmark, during the Dubai Climate Change Conference (COP 28), announced the body on 08/12/2023. This document was unveiled on 17/07/2023, almost a year before the final of the European competition at the Olympia Stadium in Berlin on Sunday 14/07/2024.

Represented at COP 28 by Michele Uva, the body's director for social and environmental sustainability, who spoke on a panel discussion titled "United by Football: Partnerships for Euro 2024", UEFA has committed itself to organising "the most sustainable European Championship of all time" by implementing a roadmap which is "backed by an investment of €32m" and also involves the German Football Association (DFB) and the host country's public authorities.
