LFP: launch of an account dedicated to Ligue 1 Uber Eats on the social media platform Threads (Meta)

The Ligue de Football Professionnel has launched an account dedicated to Ligue 1 Uber Eats on the social media platform Threads (Meta), on 14/12/2023. The account was created on the same day as the global launch of the app in Europe.

Threads, which requires an Instagram (also developed by Meta) account to sign up, intends to compete with X (ex-Twitter) by offering similar features: account following, a customised news feed, the ability to post messages and multimedia content, and the option to mention or reply to other users.

Samba Digital, an American marketing agency specialised in the sports industry, has won the call for tenders launched by LFP Media in September 2023 to take over the management of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats' international social media strategy, on 05/12/2023. The contract, which began on 01/12/2023, is due to run for a minimum of 18 months (until May 2025). The agency, founded by Frenchman Frédéric Fausser and based in Miami (Florida, USA), is in charge of producing content and managing the various social networks (Facebook, X, TikTok) for the French Championship.
