LALIGA EA Sports: Marián Mouriño, first woman to become president of RC Celta de Vigo

Marián Mouriño has become the first woman to be elected president of RC Celta (LALIGA EA Sports) following the club's general assembly held on 12/12/2023.

The businesswoman was already interim president of the club since 28/09/2023 following the resignation of her father Carlos Mouriño Atanes, who had been president of RC Celta since 2006.

"In her historic first speech as president, Marián Mouriño laid the foundations for an ambitious project, pledging to lead a new era of innovation and commitment in the club's journey, based on competitiveness, sporting and economic coherence, connection with Celta's history and respect for tradition," said the club.

Marián Mouriño also announced the launch of the club's first-ever women's team from the 2024-25 season. Her appointment comes as Celta posted a stable turnover of €69.9m in 2022-23, but a net loss of €13.3m.
