LALIGA EA Sports: conversations between central referees & VARs to be broadcast from January 2024

Conversations between central referees and Video Assistant Referees (VAR) during the examination of an action on the video screen during matches will be broadcast by the "official competition operators" at the end of the day on each league matchday in Spain (usually Saturday, Sunday and Monday) from January 2024, "with the aim of making refereeing in professional football and the competitions themselves more transparent," announced LALIGA and the Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) on 19/12/2023.

This initiative will begin with the 2024 Supercopa de España, the semi-finals of which will be played from 10 to 11/01 and the final on 14/01/2024. It will then be introduced on Matchday 20 of the LALIGA EA Sports and Matchday 22 of the 2023-24 LALIGA Hypermotion, scheduled for 12-15/01/2023. This project is part of a collaboration between LALIGA, the RFEF and the Spanish Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).
