Chelsea FC: The Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron present a project to enlarge Stamford Bridge

The Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron unveiled a project plan to expand Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League) on the specialised website Architect's Journal on 05/01/2015.

The project aims to increase the capacity of the stadium to 60,000 seats, against the 41,623 current capacity. "Since the beginning of 2014, we have studied different scenarios as part of the consultation process, but we have not yet had any substantive discussions," stated a spokesman for Chelsea FC to the British daily Sunday Times on 27/09/2014. In 2015, the club expects the results of a feasibility study on the extension of the capacity of the stadium and the impacts on the neighborhood.
