Kathy Carter, CEO of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, has announced that is stepping down as CEO on 18/12/2023, four years and seven months before the opening ceremony of the Summer Games in California (USA).

"As anticipated, because LA28 is moving from a commercial and planning phase to an operational and delivery phase, now is the right time for me to pass the torch. As of 2024, I will transition from my role as CEO and am honored to continue with LA28 as senior advisor," said the former footballer, appointed in September 2021 under LA28 chairman Casey Wasserman.

No announcement regarding Kathy Carter's replacement has been made by LA 2028, as of 20/12/2023.
