NTF: 20 most-read news featuring football bodies/organisations in 2023

With more than €17m generated by the 12 Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga clubs in 2021-22, an average of €1.4m per club, revenues reached a new record, according to the 2021-22 Flyeralarm Frauen-Bundesliga report published by the German Football Association (DFB) on 07/02/2023. The figures represent an increase of over 40% compared to the 2017-18 season. The German women's league also benefited from increased television exposure and increased investment in personnel.

Men's professional football clubs spent a record $1.57bn (€1.46bn) in transfer fees during the 2023 winter transfer window (data from 01 to 31/01/2023), an increase of 49.4% compared to 2022 ($1.03bn/€900m), according to the "International Transfer Snapshot" report on the last winter transfer window published by FIFA on 09/02/2023. A record 4,387 international transfers, of which 3,765 (85.8%) were for free players, were recorded over the period, an increase of 14.4% compared to the 2022 winter transfer market (3,834 transfers).
