West Ham United FC: a turnover of £236.7m (-6.4%) & net loss of £17.1m in 2022-23

West Ham United FC (Premier League) posted a turnover (excluding capital gains on player transfers) of £236.7m (€273.6m as at 31/05/2023) during the 2023 financial year (from 01/06/2022 to 31/05/2023), down 6.4% compared with 2022 (£252.7m, or €296.8m), announced the club on 29/12/2023.

This drop in revenue is mainly due to a reduction in broadcasting rights (£147.6m/€170.6m, -9.8%), which is partly explained by a 14th-place finish in the English League table, compared with a seventh-place finish in 2021-22. Other sources of revenue remain stable. It should be noted that the UEFA prize money resulting from the club's victory in the final of the Europa Conference League played after the close of the 2022-23 financial year will not appear until the following financial year.

Due to high activity in the transfer market in the summer of 2022 (£183.9m/€212.5m spend), West Ham recorded a net loss to the tune of £17.1m (€19.7m), compared to a profit after tax of £10.5m (€12.4m) in the 2022 financial year.
