TotalEnergies AFCON 2023: $7m (€6.4m) in prize money for the winning team (+40%)

The winner of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2023, organised in the Ivory Coast from 13/01 to 11/02/2024, will take home the sum of $7m (€6.4m), announced the Confederation of African Football on 04/01/2024. This financial award represents a 40% increase compared to the 2021 edition (won by Senegal).

CAF has earmarked $21.2m (€19.3m) in total prize money for the associations whose national teams reach the quarter-finals of the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, broken down as follows:
• $7m for the winning team
• $4m (€3.6m) for the runner up
• $2.5m (€2.3m) for each of the two federations eliminated in the semi-finals
• $1.3m (€1.2m) for each of the four federations eliminated in the quarter-finals

"CAF has made significant progress over the past two years in increasing the prize money of the AFCON and all its other major competitions.
