Sony: over 18.5 million PlayStation 4 gaming consoles sold worldwide as of 04/01/2015

More than 18.5 million PlayStation 4 gaming consoles have been sold worldwide as of 04/01/2015, announced the Sony Computer Entertainment company, on the eve of the opening of the International CES (Consumer Electronics Show, from 06 to 09/01/2015) in Las Vegas (USA), on 05/01/2015.

81.8 million PlayStation 4 games have been sold as of 04/01/2015, or an average of 4.42 games per console sold. The PlayStation Plus subscription service from Sony (to access online gaming, game downloads, and more) has 10.9 million subscribers worldwide as of 02/01/2015.

• During the year-end holidays (between 23/11/2014 and 04/01/2015), 4.1 million PlayStation 4 consoles and 17.8 million games have been sold worldwide.
• Launched in November 2013, the PlayStation 4 console is available in 123 countries.
  
  • PlayStation 4 and PS Vita were to be launched in China on 11/01/2015, but the launch was postponed to a later date.
• The PlayStation 4 exceeded one million consoles sold in the United Kingdom on 30/09/2014, in Germany on 21/10/2014, and in France on 19/12/2014.
