FIFA: Joseph Blatter considers the candidacy of Jordanian Ali Bin Al Hussein "good for the debate"

"I can only welcome this nomination. This is a democracy and this can only be beneficial for the debate," stated Joseph Blatter, president of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), on 09/01/2015 regarding the candidacy of the Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein for president of the International Federation, announced on 06/01/2015.

"And do we not sometimes say, triumph without peril is without glory?" said Joseph Blatter in the Swiss daily Le Matin.

  • "I am seeking the presidency of FIFA because I believe it is time to shift the focus away from administrative controversy and back to sport," stated Ali Bin Al Hussein, who is also vice-president of the AFC (Asian Football Confederation), as well as president of the Jordanian Football Association, on his Twitter account on 06/01/2014.
