FC Girondins de Bordeaux: "Restrictions on wage bill & transfer fees" (DNCG)

FC Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 2 BKT) will be subject to "restrictions on the wage bill and transfer fees", as decided by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 10/01/2024, in application of article 11 of the DNCG's regulations, following FCGB's second visit as part of the review of the situation of clubs for the 2023-24 sports season.

This decision comes almost a month after the supervisory body first issued a "stay of proceedings pending additional information requested from the club" on 14/12/2023.

"No measures" had been taken against the club by the DNCG at the time of the initial presentation of the 2023-24 budget on 28/06/2023, but this has since changed. "Having taken note of the club's revised budget at the end of the first part of the 2023-24 season, as well as a new strategic project involving the opening up of its capital to a minority shareholder, the DNCG wished to wait until it knew the precise terms of this operation, which is currently under negotiation, before making a decision," stated Girondins de Bordeaux in mid-December 2023.
