"We are working incredibly hard to reduce the environmental impact of UEFA Euro 2024 by rigorously implementing our ESG (environmental, social and governance) strategy. UEFA is taking full responsibility for unavoidable CO2 emissions, which is why we have created the climate fund. And we are ensuring the fund will benefit the German football community, who will welcome fans from all over the world this summer and are busy setting the stage for a fantastic Euro," said Martin Kallen, CEO of UEFA Events SA, UEFA's subsidiary responsible for all operational and commercial aspects of the competition, which will be held in Germany from 14/06 to 14/07/2024, on 08/01/2024.

"United by Football - Together for Nature" is the slogan chosen for the climate fund, which enables German amateur football clubs to propose projects between January and June 2024 and apply for grants of up to €250,000, according to the German Football Association (DFB).
