Manchester City FC: planning application submitted for women's team training facility

Manchester City FC (Premier League) have applied to Manchester City Council (England) for planning permission to develop a "purpose-built training facility" for the women's team (Barclays Women's Super League) at the club's training centre, "City Football Academy," announced the club on 11/01/2024.

"The proposals, which have a total value of up to £10m, will see the creation of a stand-alone facility designed to house the women's first team, and marks the latest chapter in the club's continued investment into best-in-class facilities for the team," explained Manchester City, who worked with experts to design a 17,000 square foot building capable of being "expanded over time as the team continues to grow."

The development plans presented by the club "feature:
⚽️ a hydrotherapy area;
⚽️ a high-performance gym;
⚽️ an analytics space all designed to enhance player development by mirroring the high-performance environment of the men's first team."
