UEFA Euro 2024: BYD (electric vehicles, CHN) succeeds Volkswagen as e-mobility partner

Chinese car manufacturer BYD (abbreviation for Build Your Dreams) has become the 13^th official sponsor of Euro 2024, which will be held in Germany from 14/06 to 14/07/2024, announced UEFA on 12/01/2024. The agreement was negotiated via the Swiss agency CAA Eleven.

BYD, which has already forged partnerships with Arsenal FC (Premier League, in 2018) and with the IHF for the 2023 Women's World Handball Championships, will provide "a diverse range of new energy vehicles (NEVs) for various stakeholders during the tournament. BYD will also be present at the official fan zones. BYD will also hold hundreds of events in more than 230 BYD stores across 19 European countries to celebrate the prestigious tournament together with football fans and customers," explained UEFA.

The Shenzhen-based company has thus taken on the status of "e-mobility partner".
