IOC: AB InBev becomes a "TOP" partner until 2028 via its alcohol-free beer brand Corona Cero

Belgian brewery group AB InBev has become a Worldwide Olympic Partner (TOP partner) of the International Olympic Committee for five years (2024-2028), announced the IOC on 12/01/2024. The partnership covers the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024 (summer), Milano Cortina 2026 (winter) and Los Angeles 2028 (summer).

This agreement, the first signed by the IOC with a group operating in the alcohol sector, concerns only the Corona Cero brand of alcohol-free beer, a product that the committee says is growing rapidly. "Corona Cero zero-alcohol beer will be the global beer sponsor of the Olympic Games, highlighting the IOC and AB InBev’s commitment to responsible consumption and building a better world," said the body.

While this partnership does not involve the AB InBev group's famous alcoholic beer brands such as Budweiser, Stella Artois, Leffe, Hoegaarden or Jupiler, an exception will be made for the Los Angeles 2028 Games, when the US-produced Michelob Ultra "superior light beer" will also be available.
