Football Benchmark: a "substantial growth" in revenue for European champions in 2022-23

"The 2022-23 season witnessed a substantial growth in revenue for all champions, indicating positive signs of a full return to normalcy after the pandemic. Matchday revenues, heavily impacted by the pandemic in previous seasons, contributed significantly to the remarkable improvement, with the eight champions recording stadium income exceeding €660m (17% of combined total operating revenues in 2022-23, compared to 12% recorded by the champions in 2021-22)," according to "The European Champions Report 2024", published by Football Benchmark, a business intelligence platform dedicated to football, on 16/01/2024.

This eighth edition of the report, which is usually dedicated solely to the European champions, examines the operating revenues (excluding transfers) of 16 teams, compared with eight previously.
