Mexico: Amazon acquires broadcasting rights to more than 50 NBA games per season from 2024

The American e-commerce group Amazon has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast more than 50 NBA games per season in Mexico as part of a multi-year agreement starting in 2024, announced the National Basketball Association on 17/01/2024.

"Featuring live commentaries in Spanish from local announcers, Prime Video will livestream up to two games on Mondays and select weekends through the remainder of the 2023-24 regular season, in addition to up to 19 playoff games. As part of this agreement, NBA League Pass (NBA's direct-to-consumer service broadcasting all games) will also be available in Mexico via Prime Video," explained the North American league. The agreement will begin with the broadcast of the Philadelphia 76ers - San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings - Atlanta Hawks games on Monday 22/01/2024.

NBA broadcasting rights in Mexico are also held by the pay-TV group ESPN (The Walt Disney Company), the Spanish-language pay-TV and free-TV group TelevisaUnivision and the channel NBA TV.
