LALIGA/stadiums: a record average fill rate of 73.4% at the end of the first half of 2023-24

LALIGA EA Sports and LALIGA Hypermotion stadiums posted a record average fill rate 73.4% the end of the first half of the 2023-24 season, an increase of 4.9% on the same period the previous season, announced LALIGA on 18/01/2024.

After 19 matchdays (out of 38) in the first division and 21 (out of 42) in the second division, LALIGA has had "nearly 8 million people attending its 41 stadiums," explained the Spanish league. Villarreal CF, who play in the top flight, and their B team, who play in the second division, both play their home games at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

For LALIGA EA Sports, "there has been an increase in total attendees of 0.6% compared to the 2022-23 season, exceeding 5 million people", a remarkable figure given that FC Barcelona currently play their home games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, which has a capacity of 50,319, compared with 95,426 for the Spotify Camp Nou in 2022-23. The stadium fill rate for the Spanish top flight stands at 83.4% (+4.1%).
