DAZN has launched a freemium version of its app in Japan and Belgium, announced the OTT sports platform on 23/01/2024. A freemium version was already launched in Germany in December 2023.

"Each week, in every country, a selection of live matches from some of DAZN's premium sports rights will be available for free to registered users on DAZN and partner channels without a subscription," explained the platform.

"Registered users will also have free access to on-demand content such as documentaries and highlights as well as DAZN’s integrated products and services, including news, scores and statistics, free-to-play games and quizzes, betting, and podcasts," said DAZN.

In Belgium, fans will soon be able to watch for free the three Riyadh Season Cup matches between Al Hilal SC (Roshn Saudi League), Al Nassr FC (Roshn Saudi League, home of Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo) and Inter Miami CF (MLS, home of Argentina's Lionel Messi), played from 29/01 to 08/02/2024.
