Formula One Group, organiser of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, has entered into a 10-year partnership (2026-2035) with Ifema Madrid, a company that organises trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses in Madrid, for the organisation of the Spanish Grand Prix in the Spanish capital on 23/01/2024.

"Ifema Madrid's comprehensive proposal received widespread support from national, regional, and local government, including key stakeholders such as the Regional Government of Madrid, the Madrid City Council, and the Chamber of Commerce," explained Formula One Group. While the event is supported by these public bodies, it will be financed solely by private companies, according to Spanish media. The budget allocated for the construction of the circuit is estimated at around €100m.

The Spanish race will therefore move from Barcelona to Madrid for 10 seasons, on a 5.47km track that will include sections of public highway. The Spanish Grand Prix, which has been held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya since 1991, saw its contract with Formula One Group extended until 2026 on 26/11/2021.
