NBA: DAZN extends its broadcast rights in Germany for "several seasons"

DAZN has extended its rights to broadcast the National Basketball Association in Germany for "several seasons", announced the OTT sports platform on 23/01/2024. DAZN has held the rights to broadcast the NBA in this territory since its launch in 2016.

The UK streaming service will broadcast more than 200 games live each season, including NBA In-Season Tournament games, playoffs and the NBA Finals. "Fans will also be able to enjoy NBA TV on DAZN, the NBA's linear streaming channel. Fans can watch daily reports, news and live games with American commentary," explained the platform.

German broadcasting group ProsiebenSat.1 has also acquired free-to-air NBA broadcasting rights for the DACH area for the 2023-24 season, on 10/10/2023. The group will broadcast "more than 50 NBA regular season matches as well as other playoff and finals games live."

• With six players playing in an NBA franchise, Germany is the 5^th most represented nation (outside the United States) at the launch of the 2023-24 season of the North American League (125 international players from 40 countries).
