The FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) World Football Museum, located in the city centre of Zurich (SUI), will be inaugurated in early 2016, probably in March, the international body announced on 13/01/2015.

The museum will have 3500m2 of exhibition space spread over three floors, and 1500m2 dedicated to welcoming visitors with a shop, a sports bar and a cafeteria. The museum will also include a cinema. The development of the museum space has been entrusted to the communication agency Triad, based in Berlin (GER).

“We will have the biggest collection of football books in the world and academics and journalists will have access to material to help shape a better understanding of the history of the game. There are facilities for school trips and areas for academic seminars and conferences. This will be a museum fit for the 21st century,” stated David Ausseil, the creative director of the museum, whose construction began in May 2014. FIFA aims to accommodate between 250,000 and 300,000 visitors per year.
