Brazil 2014: English clubs receive €8.8m of the €59.3m redistributed via the club benefits programme

English clubs comprise €8.8 million of the €59.3m redistributed through the FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) club benefits programme. FIFA has earlier dedicated a portion of profits from the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, from 12/06 to 13/07/2014) to clubs whose players took part in the competition, announced the international dederation on 13/01/2015.

This redistribution was one of the topics discussed at the meeting of the FIFA Club Football Committee in Zurich (SUI), on 13/01/2015. Over 1030 clubs applied, and FIFA determined 396, from 57 different countries, are eligible and will redistribute $70m (€59.3m) to those clubs for providing the 736 players (32 teams of 23 players) who participated in the 20th World Cup.

  • The classification, by federation, is led by England (€8.8m), followed by Germany (€6.46m), Italy (€6.33m), Spain (€5.14m) and France (€3.7m).
