Africa: Puma renews its partnership with the Ghanaian federation

The German sports equipment brand Puma renewed its partnership with the GFA (Ghana Football Association), announced the partners on 14/01/2015.

Puma has been linked with the "Black Stars" since 2005. The extension of the partnership should at least cover the 2015-2018 period. The Ghanaian team qualified for the 2015 African Nations Cup, taking place in Equatorial Guinea from 17/01 to 08/02/2015.

  • adidas is the official supplier of the 2015  African Cup of Nations and provides the "Marhaba," the official ball of the tournament.

Puma revenue down 6.5% in the first half of 2014

  • Puma announced a turnover down 6.5% to €1.37bn in the first half of 2014, on 29/07/2014.
    • Turnover for the first half of 2013: €1.47bn.
  • The net profits of Puma fell by 41.3% to €39.8m in the first half of 2014. Operating income decreased by 35.4% to €71.2m over the same period.
    • The group's gross margin remained stable at 47.7%.
  • The brand equipped 8 of the 32 teams at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil (from 12/06 to 13/07/2014):
