Fenway Sports Group: Theo Epstein becomes a minority shareholder & senior advisor

Theo Epstein, general manager of the Boston Red Sox Major League Baseball franchise from 2003 to 2011 and then president of baseball operations for the Chicago Clubs (MLB) from 2012 to 2020, has become a senior advisor and minority shareholder of Fenway Sports Group (FSG), an international company specialised in sports, marketing, media, entertainment and real estate, announced the latter on 02/02/2024. This appointment, which is subject to approval by Major League Baseball, means that the American will be leaving his position as an official MLB consultant, which he has held since 2021.

"In this strategic position, Epstein will advise FSG owners John Henry, Tom Werner, Mike Gordon, and Sam Kennedy on the company's sporting operations across the portfolio and consult on strategic growth and investment initiatives," said Fenway Sports Group.
