LALIGA: launch of an academy in Bogota (Colombia), the League's first in South America

LALIGA has opened an academy in Bogota (Colombia), its first in South America, in collaboration with the EFA Deportes sports centre, announced the Spanish League on 06/02/2024. 

The academy, launched in February 2024, welcomes children from 4 to 19 years old, offering them training in line with LALIGA's methodology. Furthermore, the infrastructure includes four pitches and is staffed by ten coaches, all led by a LALIGA-certified instructor holding a UEFA Pro license. "The goal is to provide young footballers with a comprehensive training plan and to promote their sporting, educational, and personal development," added LALIGA.

"We are very pleased with the agreement, as it'll be our first academy in Latin America, which is a key region for LALIGA Academy. The choice of location is not random: Colombia is a strategic country for us, and has a strong LALIGA following," said Javier Hernandez, head of LALIGA Academy.
